Enigma: Illusion is an experimental film, a visual poem made by digital tools. Enigma is a series of works around the madness in our society. It starts from poem texts in Chinese, which were written during the pandemic crisis in Shanghai, in 2022. After that, I began to make a film of this poem, to transform some key metaphors into images.
Why people are getting truamatized during pandemic time?
Enigma
The pandemonium I see from the remote
Came from the natural satellite, pouring down
That invisible structure disassemble and forged once more
as the concrete jungle to the sky’s shore
A thousand kinds of us are here murmuring,
Is that some heckles,
Is that a soliloquy,
or a sigh that drift away?
Flowing into a greater billabong,
to water decently
Harvest,
the apple in the age of mechanical reproduction
Dull and bored was the impression,
which, turned into misery fluid, gooey,
that rotted to the heart
Having heard the word, and raid
Decaying, fermenting
with nowhere to project, it turned out to be a self-attack
Enchanted with a disconsolate entity, waving densely and tenderly
Drawing the attention from the high end, that non-linear infinity
Fall together ignore the monitoring
Why can’t the fall be a dance?
For I am the fuel,
inflaming fire and moth
Ashes float, and fruit with
the newborn of the next generation
